Yew tunnel at Aberglasney

Aberglasney

The ancient gardens of Aberglasney are a delight for the gardener or historian. One of the few Jacobean garden structures still to be found the visitor can explore it's pools, cloister walk and tunnels as well as discovering some of the rare and exiting plants. Fares from £10.

Botanic Gardens

National Botanic Gardens of Wales

A international centre of conservation and research, the gardens have numerous attractions including the world's largest single span greenhouse, a Mediterranean garden, and the Wallace garden honouring famous Welsh botanist Alfred Russell Wallace. Fares from £17.

Carreg Cennen

Carreg Cennen

One of the most spectacular castles in Wales is Carreg Cennen which sits precariously on a high rocky crag. Dating back to the 13th Century it affords superb views of Black Mountain to the South and the Towy valley to the North. An added attraction, especially for children, is the dark cave that runs deep underneath the castle. Fares from £10.00.

Gelli Aur (Golden Grove)

This 90-acre country park with 17th century deer park and 10 acre Victorian arboretum is very popular with visitors to the Tywi valley. With commanding views across the beautiful valley, Gelli Aur was once the home of the Vaughan and Cawdor families. Tea rooms and visitor centre.

Lemur

Manor House Wildlife & Leisure Park (Tenby)

Owned by TV Interior Designer Anna Ryder Richardson, the wildife & leisure park is not like a traditional zoo; rather than viewing animals behind cages you go in with them!

Visit the close encounters unit where you can feed and pet domestic, young and just born animals or hold the snakes during the snake experience. Help the keepers feed the Penguins and Otters or just browse around the Natural History Museum and education rooms before watching the comical antics of the Lemurs and monkeys. Fares from £50.

Ffos Las Racecourse

In magnificent surroundings, Ffos Las Racecourse is surrounded by rolling hills and countryside and has a view down the Gwendraeth Valley to Carmarthen Bay. Hosting both National Hunt and Flat fixtures this newly opened course brings top class racing back to Wales for the first time since 1927. Fares from £40.
